Active Access IAM - Administration - Creating, Editing and Removing Applications

Introduction

This article applies to users with the Application Administrator role.

This article will detail the procedure for adding new applications, editing existing applications, and removing applications.

Details

Adding Applications

1. Click on the hamburger menu, then click on the down arrow to expand the list under Administration. Click on the Manage Applications menu

2. Click the + icon to add an application

3. You will be prompted to first create the subpackage

  1. Select the parent package from the Parent Package drop-down menu
  2. Enter the new subpackage name in the Package Name box
  3. Select the desired category from the Category dropdown
  4. Enter a description for the new subpackage if desired
  5. If application roles are required, select ROLE from the Application Role Group Type. Selecting ROLE will activate the Application Role Group Type Name box. Enter the name of the application role, then enter a role group type description if desired. Only one role can be created during subpackage creation, however, more roles can be added once the subpackage has been created
  6. Review the Access Settings. Access settings can be altered by clicking the slider bar to engage or disengage the various setting options
  7. Click the Create button

4. Add services to the new subpackage

  1. Navigate to the list of packages on the Manage Applications page; click on the just-added subpackage
  2. Click on the Services tab
  3. A service will have been created during the subpackage creation; click on the service name to view the service details
  4. Some applications may require a remote application ID based on the client application requirements. If needed enter that ID in the Remote Application ID box
  5. Click the + above the Service URL box. On the pop-up screen select the Service URL type from the drop-down menu. Enter the service URL in the Service URL Value box, being sure to include http:// or https:// in the URL. IAM supports multiple Service URL types to enable links to training, FAQs, manuals, etc. The Default URL is the URL that will display on the Portal applications page to enable users to launch the application. Click the Add button to add the URL. Additional service URLs may be added to the service by clicking the + button
  6. Toggle the Messaging Enabled button to blue to enable the sub-package for IDSync or toggle it to gray to disable it for IDSync
  7. Click the Update button to save changes to the service

5. If additional Roles are needed, click the Application Role Group Types tab. Click the + to display the Create Application Role Type window. Enter the Application Role Group Type Name and select the Type from the drop-down box, then click the Create button. This procedure may be repeated to add as many roles as are needed

Editing Existing Applications

1. Click on the hamburger menu, then click on the down arrow to expand the list under Administration. Click on the Manage Applications menu

2. To edit a subpackage:

  1. Click the arrow next to the parent package to expand the list of sub-packages OR click on the filter icon to search for the subpackage by Category
  2. Click on the subpackage name to view details
  3. Make desired edits to the package name, functional area, description, or Access Settings
  4. Click on the Update button to save changes

     To edit a service:

  1. Click the arrow next to the parent package to expand the list of sub-packages OR click on the filter icon to search for the subpackage by Category
  2. Click on the subpackage name to view details
  3. Click on the Services tab, then click on the service name to view details
  4. Make desired edits to the Service Name, Category, Description, Messaging Enabled, or Service URLs
  5. Click the Update button to save changes

Remove an Application

1. Click on the hamburger menu, then click on the down arrow to expand the list under Administration. Click on the Manage Applications menu

2. Click the trash can icon in the Action column next to the application to be Removed

3. Review the confirmation screen warning, then click the Remove button
